Abstract: Under the background of promoting major country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics and building a community with a shared future for mankind, the article discusses the historical context and characteristics of the evolution of American sports foreign exchanges from the perspective of national historical evolution, aiming to provide a reference for improving my country's sports policy. The study believes that American sports has experienced four stages in the practice of foreign exchanges: the period of inclusive value highlighting, the period of radical value practice, the period of hegemonic value expansion, and the period of global value targeting. It has played a role in promoting national identity and building citizenship. , show the national image, shape the national strength, demonstrate the superiority of the system, seek cultural hegemony, and obtain the world's political and economic interests and other diverse values. U.S. sports foreign exchanges serve the national diplomatic strategy and meet the needs of the country's "interest diplomacy" in different periods; deeply influenced by pragmatic social culture, it pays attention to the multiple values and comprehensive effects of sports; uses sports to export "universal" values and "mainstream" values. "Ideology, intends to create a "homogeneous body" of world culture and seek cultural hegemony. The study proposes that foreign exchanges of sports should be integrated into the national diplomatic strategy in the new stage to serve the diplomatic and political needs of major countries with Chinese characteristics; to make overall plans for the development of sports around the transformation of national interests, and to give play to the diversified strategic value of sports; The new image of China's "responsible sports power" in the new stage.
