Abstract: Based on the theoretical research on participation motivation, sports commitment, participation satisfaction and continuous participating intention of winter sports, this paper constructed the influence mechanism model of participation motivation and participating intention. By applying the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), this paper ran a hypothesis test on the survey data of eight indoor and outdoor skating rinks and seven ski resorts in Beijing. The results showed that: in the four dimensions of participation motivation, intellectual motivation and competence-mastery motivation has positive correlation with sports commitment while negative correlation exists between the social motivation and sports commitment. Among all these, the competence-mastery has a stronger influence on sports commitment than others. This analysis also indicates that only the stimulus-avoidance motivation, among the four dimensions, has a significant positive impact on sports commitment, while sports commitment has a significant positive impact on participation satisfaction which in turn has a significant positive impact on the continuous participating intention.

Key words: winter sports, leisure motivation, participation motivation, sports commitment, participation satisfaction, continuous participating intention.
