Abstract: Repeated sprint training in hypoxia is a new variation of live low–train high, which has emerged in recent years and has been applied in some team projects. When athletes perform repeated sprint training in hypoxia, their body is subject to a stronger load stimulation, thus producing metabolic adaptations accordingly, which is conducive to improving the athlete's repeated sprint ability, intermittent aerobic capacity and fatigue index. Starting from the diversification of current plateau /hypoxic training methods, the article introduces the concept of repeated sprint training in hypoxia, its application in team projects, and the possible mechanism of improving sports performance. Studies have shown that the effectiveness of repeated sprint training in hypoxia may be related to suchfactors as improvement of oxygen utilization rate of sports muscles, improvement of creatine phosphate resynthesisability, and change of neuromuscular function. This article also examines the application prospects of repeated sprint training in hypoxia.
Key words: altitude/hypoxic training, repeated sprint training in hypoxia, team sport, performance, repeated sprint ability
