Abstract: Using proceduralist grounded theory research methods to construct a practice ability model for Chinese strength and conditioning coaches. The original materials were obtained through one-on-one interviews with 24 experts and the combination of online messages and text materials. Using the three-level coding method, the authors obtained 4 main categories, 13 categories, and 48 concepts and then constructed a practice ability model for strength and conditioning coaches on the basis of determining the relationship between the main categories. The model consists of 4 first-level indicators (practical motivation, professional practice ability, general practice ability, situational practice ability), 13 secondary indicators (endogenous practice motivation, exogenous practice motivation, professional knowledge, professional skills, reflection and summary, interpersonal communication skills, promotion of athlete development, collaboration and cooperation skills, knowledge building ability, professional ethics and work attitude, scientific research ability, analysis ability, innovation ability) and 48 three-level indicators. The model can provide the necessary reference for the professional development of Chinese strength and conditioning coaches.
