Abstract: Professor Brett Hutchins from Monash University in Australia was interviewed by the author on the topic of expanding the boundaries of sports media research. Elaborating the terminal changes of sports media and the boundary expansion of research issues within the framework of media research, he believes that the impact of the digital revolution in the field of sports communication on sports events involves various aspects of the media industry and games reporting, including but not limited to sports media issues in the fields of streaming media, video portals, and social media. Besides, for the boundary expansion of sports media research at the methodological level, critical thinking is essential, especially in the tide of the application of smart phones and big data. How to obtain and manage new norms of media sports is an important topic worthy of international cooperation. For the expansion of research horizons, special emphasis was placed on the emerging research topics of environmental protection and sports media in recent years. The combination of climate change and carbon emissions issues with sports event dissemination research is fresh and highly inspiring.
