The Cultural Turn of Sports Communication Research Since the Reform and Opening-up in China

Abstract: Sport communication is an approach for people to understand the world. With the perspective of Cultural Research, since 1980s the Cultural Turn has been a main trend in the development of sports communication research. The extended historic and social respective has been introduced into the sport field. With the rising of popular culture, more and more researchers tends to the focus on sports. The thesis elaborates the spread of the cultural turn in the sports idea change, the medium changes and the principal part change, which causes a series of change in vision feild, methods, and academic community in the study of the specific sport communication. Nevertheless, it put forward that the development of China's sports communication study uphold Chinese standpoint, world vision, intergating method and pointing to practice .
