Abstract: With reference to the management practice and governance exploration of Higher iinstitues of physical education, this present paper conducts a research on the modernization of governance system and governance ability of higher institues of physical educaton by centering on "what to persist and consolidate" and "what to improve and develop". To the end, we should actively explore the internal governance mechanism of higher institues of physical eudcation to adhere to and consolidate the seven systems; respond to the new situation and new requirements, focus on "what to improve and develop", and promote the modernization of governance system and governance ability of higher inistitues of physical education by improving the six mechanisms and the three abilities.
