Abstract: By using the methods of documents and historical research, this paper traces the identity and activities of Tang Hao in his early years. As a pioneer in the study of Chinese Wushu and the history of national sports, the young Tang Hao took up school education and joined social associations because of “Guoji”, shuttling between schools and associations in Shanghai for a long time. While engaging himself in education, Tang also paid attention to the fate of the nation and state and participated in many social and political activities, thus forming multiple identities. The activities related to “Wushu” and “Guoji” intermingled with his early experiences, thus laying the foundation for his long-term theoretical research and historical research on “Guoji”.
