A Contrastive Analysis of Extra-curricular Physical Activities of Obese andNon-obese College Students——A Case Study of Eight Universities in North Anhui Province

Abstract: Nowadays, the rate of obesity among college students is striking. Based on investigation, this paper contrastively analyzes their understanding of the importance of extra-curricular physical activities, range of time, frequency and means of participation. Here are some findingsfirst, the obese do not realize the shaping and beautifying function of physical activities as well as the normal-weighted; second, neither takes morning exercises; third, more of the obese tend to exercise alone than the normal-weighted; and last, they demonstrate no marked discrepancy in frequency of extra-curricular physical activities.
