Opportunities, Challenges, and Pathways for New Quality Productive Forces to Enable Green and Low-Carbon Development in the Sports Industry

  • Against the backdrop of the “Dual Carbon” era, this study employs methods such as literature review and logical analysis to explore the theoretical foundation, opportunities, challenges, and pathways for new quality productive forces (NQPF) to empower the green and low-carbon development of the sports industry. The research analyzes the theoretical basis of NQPF-enabled green and low-carbon development in the sports industry from the perspectives of its characteristics, essential core, and operational mechanisms. The study identifies opportunities including technological innovation leadership, intelligent technology drive, paradigm shifts, consumer awareness guidance, and cross-sector integration. However, challenges such as delayed industrial upgrading and financing constraints hindering ecological chain synergy, lack of awareness regarding green development in the sports industry impeding low-carbon transition, and a shortage of high-tech talent limiting green innovation and technology transformation were also highlighted. To address these, the study proposes pathways such as optimizing the cultivation and evaluation mechanisms for sci-tech talent, promoting the construction and application of smart venues, improving green financial services and support systems, strengthening low-carbon event operations and educational guidance, and enhancing green supply chain management and optimization.
