Abstract: During the total Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the combat basketball team formed in the Jin-Sui (Shanxi-Suiyuan) Resistance Base was a product of the dual influence of the Chinese Communist Party leaders' sports thoughts and pragmatic sports thoughts, and an important part of the resistance culture in the base area. On the one hand, the combat basketball team exerts the "head goose effect" through active activities, which promotes the development of sports in the base area, and strengthens the military and civilian physique; on the other hand, it also plays a role in uniting the hearts and strength of the people, providing spiritual motivation, and serving the United Front Work of the Communist Party of China in a unique way. As an early sports undertaking led by the Communist Party of China, the combat basketball team, with its multiple attributes of sports, politics, and military, has a unique historical value in serving the war of resistance while consolidating the cultural construction of the base area, in encouraging confidence in the war of resistance, serving political and military affairs, and cultivating sports talents. The survival and development experience of the Combat Basketball Team continues to play a role after the founding of the People's Republic of China, providing a historical basis for practicing the idea of "serving the people" in sports, building a leading nation, and exploring the function of sports education.
