Abstract: Sports translation, born in the context of cultural globalization, plays an important role in today's sports world. Influenced by the mass culture production of modern sport, sports translation, as an independent concept, has not been clarified in its own connotation characteristics in the past 20 years. The lack of relevant theoretical research has led to the vagueness of the concept and development direction and the marginalization in the field status. Based on the text essence of translation, this study, through the deconstruction of contemporary sports and the analysis of its cultural text, finds that sport has an “onion-like” structure with a professional core and a cultural outer layer, and accordingly puts forward the corresponding "professional sports text" and "sports-relating text". Through further analysis of the structure and characteristics of the two types of texts, this paper points out the different demands for translators' quality and the differences in their training modes and approaches, with a view to making a preliminary visit to the training path of sports translators. Finally, based on the needs of national translation capacity and international communication capacity building, through the analysis of the intellectual linkage between professional sport and translation, an exploratory perspective on the future direction of sports translation development is carried out.
