Abstract: As the crystallization of all the ethnic groups’ wisdom, the national traditional sports culture’s multi-faceted value needs to be interpreted in many theoretical dimensions. The article chooses the "Yi’s horse racing" in Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province as a case study. On the basis of clarifying the concept of "Habitat", this paper expounds the habitat molding of Yi’s horse racing from the two dimensions of the natural environment and social environment, with the aim of tentatively revealing the relationship between traditional sports culture and their habitat and its general laws. From the perspective of the characteristics and ethnic selection of the Yi’s horse racing, this paper analyzes the molding of the formation of the cultural personality of the habitat, and as the result of habitat adaptation, the Yi’s horse racing carries many aspects of national cultural connotations. As a special traditional national culture, it embodies the collective feelings of the Yi ethnic group and has become the carrier of the national spirit.
